About
Scanning Habitable Environments with Raman and Luminescence for Organics and Chemicals (SHERLOC) is one of seven scientific instruments aboard the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover. It is a deep-UV Raman and fluorescence mapping spectrometer that works in concert with two context imagers to analyze the surface of Mars. It has been deployed and operational since 2021.
Overview
This database contains UV Raman and luminescence spectra acquired using laboratory instruments to provide reference data for the interpretation of SHERLOC observations. This resource is actively maintained by the SHERLOC science team to improve open access and reproducibility.
